What happens after I report something?

Right after you submit, you see an on-screen confirmation (“Report received”) — there's no separate confirmation email for that.

A person reviews every report

We don't decide on a solely automated basis, and the number of reports on something decides nothing by itself.

The outcome comes by email

We email you the outcome: either no rule violation was found and nothing was done, or measures were taken. That email names only what was reported — a listing, a shop or an account — never the details of any measures taken.

If you disagree with the decision

You can complain about the decision within six months of receiving that email — it includes a contact button for that.

What the reported person or shop is told

If nothing is done, the reported side hears nothing about your report at all. If we do take action, we tell them the reason and how to contest it — we never tell them who reported them.

If you have your account deleted first

If you have your account deleted before a decision is made, we can no longer tell you the outcome.

For the rules behind these decisions, see the Listing Rules and the Terms of Use.
